Pearl Pixel is the moniker for Alex Parrish, a chick who loves music and video games! Through composing, doing session work, and working full time, Alex is hoping to be an established composer by the time she's 90. Hopefully that works out for her.
Some fun facts:
Why "Pearl Pixel"?! Seems kinda lame...
Well have you ever heard of an anagram? All the letters of 'Alex Ripple', my maiden name, fit into 'Pearl Pixel'. Once I found that my name made a pretty cool moniker, I knew it was the one that was going to stick!
Why get into Video Games?
More like WHY NOT? Am I right?
But actually, as a wee little lass I loved to play games with my family, my favorite being Donkey Kong 64. Of course being the great game that it is, DK64 it has an awesome soundtrack by none other than Grant Kirkhope. Little did I know, that weird British guy would be my inspiration getting into music *a.k.a. I actually practiced my instruments, playing his music - not my music for class*. I later realized in middle school I didn't want to be a chef as I had previously, but instead, I wanted to write music like Mr. Kirkhope. On top of that I didnt want to just write music, I also wanted to inspire someone else to write like he's inspired me. So that's what I've set out to do! Quite the quest I know, but I am filled with determination(and surrounded by amazing friends and community)!!
Okay, we get it - you like music. Do you have any other hobbies?
Nope. I am in fact the most boring person in the universe.
Just kidding! I like to do a bunch of stuff. For example, I like to bake delicious sweets, craft, and play with my two adorable doggies, Howl and Grimm.
